Mazda 3 2nd Gen (2009-2013)

In November 2008 Mazda debuted the second-generation Mazda3 with restyled interior, including a CD audio unit with AM/FM radio, four speakers, MP3 / WMA-compatibility and auxiliary (AUX) input jack as standard on all Mazda 3 (2009-2013) models. 

Mazda 3 S (Without Steering Wheel Controls)

This entry level S-Line model comes without steering wheel controls as standard. Our radio ISO lead (20-117) will allow the fitting of an aftermarket car stereo upgrade by adapting the original connector to standard aftermarket ISO connectors.

Mazda 3 TS (With steering wheel controls)

The only significant difference to the S Line models in terms of car audio is the addition of a leather steering wheel with integrated audio controls. To retain use of the factory steering wheel controls please use our part number 29-719. This interface will retain the use of the steering wheel audio controls with an aftermarket head unit, as well as telephone buttons/ phone commands. It will also provide a vehicle speed pulse output.

Mazda 3 Sport (With BOSE Audio Systems)

As well as steering wheel audio controls, Mazda 3 Sport models have the addition of a premium Bose® surround-sound audio system with 6-CD changer. In addition to using our 29-719 steering wheel control interface, we recommend using a ISO to ISO amplifier integration interface (20-273). This interface converts the high level audio output of the new car stereo head unit to a low level pre amplified signal which will work with the factory BOSE amplifier. With 4 adjustable channels which can be tuned for optimum audio quality, this interface has a built in ground loop isolator and filters to get the best sound from the factory fitted BOSE amplifier.

Retaining the factory AUX

An Auxiliary (AUX) input jack and power outlet (located in centre armrest) comes as standard on all Mazda 3 (2009-2013) car models. To retain this when replacing your factory system with an aftermarket car stereo we recommend using part number 24-244. This product contains a special PCB allowing you to maintain the cars existing AUX socket and original housing and use it with a new aftermarket head-unit.
