Volkswagen Double DIN car stereo upgrade fitting kit (Steering controls) For Highline & Amplified

Complete stereo upgrade fitting kit to install a Double DIN aftermarket car stereo head unit and retain use of the factory steering wheel controls in various Volkswagen/ Skoda and Seat car models.

Suitable for cars with Highline specification or an Amplifier.

This head unit fitting kit includes the following:

Steering wheel control, PDC and climate interface (49-VW-02)

Provides CANbus ignition to the new radio and CANbus speed pulse, reverse gear and handbrake outputs. The interface also provides a CAN amplifier turn on signal for cars fitted with the original Dynaudio and select Fender sound systems. (These systems can be identified by the branding on the speaker grilles, pictured below)

This interface also retains the original parking sensor display, (Parking Distance Control - PDC) and climate control information that is shown on the original radio. IF AVAILABLE ON THE VEHICLE

This information is transferred to the white display on the instrument cluster.

Please note: The PDC and climate info is shown on the cars central display between the clocks, NOT ON THE NEW RADIO

Double Fakra to DIN aerial adapter (Phantom Power) with Bullet connector (21-139K)

Double Fakra to DIN antenna adapter cable with 12v phantom power from a male bullet connection. This antenna adapter cable adapts from the original Double Fakra connector in the vehicle to a standard aftermarket radio DIN antenna connection for the fitting of a stereo upgrade.

Universal SWC Patch Lead (49-025)

Universal patch lead to be used with In car Tec 49 series steering wheel control interfaces. Use for Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood, Pioneer and Sony head units.

PLEASE NOTE: FOR UNBRANDED/ CHINESE HEAD UNITS YOU WILL REQUIRE A DEDICATED 49-000 PATCH LEAD 

Double DIN flush fit fascia (50-699)

The fascia adaptor allows the fitting of an aftermarket radio into the dashboard by matching the shape, style and colour of the original radio.

This fascia kit uses side fixing brackets, the brackets fit directly to the sides of the new radio and the fascia panel. This replaces the need for a fitting cage and gives a flush professional appearance to the installation.

Compatibility

This fitting kit is compatible with Volkswagen original head units fitted with a twin Fakra connection and an amplified sound system. Please see pictures below.

Please note that some vehicles have original DAB. This is not retained with this kit and will require 21-037 Fakra to SMB adapter.

This kit also does not retain original reverse cameras or USB and AUX ports. Please see the other items listed against your car and original head unit to see if these are available as they vary by model and originally fitted radio.

Not suitable for later (2017 onwards) Composition or Discover systems.

This kit also fits various Skoda and Seat cars.

Suitable for Skoda Superb cars with the original Columbus navigation radio.
