Complete stereo upgrade fitting kit to install a Double DIN aftermarket car stereo head unit and retain the use of the steering wheel controls in Volvo XC90 (2005-2014) models (With Parking sensors)
This head unit fitting kit includes:
Amplifier bypass cable (20-307)
Allows you to connect a new aftermarket radio directly to the cars speakers after bypassing the original amplifier. The original amplifier in the car has fibre optic connections from the head unit. When replacing the head unit it will be necessary to bypass the fibre optics and ignore the original amplifier. This lead is designed to be used along with a steering wheel control interface and a parking sensor retention interface.
When bypassing the amplifier, the original subwoofer will no longer work. Additional wires are on this lead to enable the installation of an aftermarket amplifier to drive the subwoofer.
Antenna connector and extension (21-148)
This cable converts the car radios existing aerial plug in the rear roof to DIN type used by most car radio manufacturers.
On some Volvo XC90 models, there is no antenna connector behind the radio, it is in the roof at the rear of the car. If this is the case you will need to remove the rear roof lining and locate the cars antenna system and run a antenna adapter extension cable 21-148 along the left side of the roof trim. If your Volvo XC90 already has an antenna connection behind the car radio then this part is not needed.
PLEASE NOTE: Cars in USA do not have the antenna connector in the roof. In these cars you will need to fit a new antenna.
CAN bus connector (23-223)
This cable allows you to keep the CANbus system in a Volvo XC90 active when installing an aftermarket head unit. The link lead has a dedicated connector allowing the user to connect up to two CAN interface devices to a Volvo XC90 vehicle.
Rear Parking Tone interface (25-514-VOLVO)
CANbus interface to retain the original parking distance control (PDC) tones and other vehicle warning chimes that are lost when replacing the radio in Volvo XC90 car models.
The original parking tones and warning chimes in many cars are produced by the original radio and when an aftermarket radio is fitted these tones are lost. This CANbus interface reads the data in the car and reproduces the parking tones and warning chimes through an additional speaker. The interface has a universal adapter cable, this needs to be hardwired to the power, ground and CANbus wires in the car. Fitting instructions are included.
Steering wheel audio control interface (39-VOL-UNI)
This interface uses loose wire connections behind the original radio to allow the use of the original steering wheel control buttons with a new aftermarket head-unit. It also provides CANbus outputs as well as Ignition, speed pulse, reverse gear, handbrake and illumination signals to the new stereo. Includes PHONE functions on compatible radio's. This interface comes with a universal patch lead which can be used with Alpine, Blaupunkt, Clarion, Pioneer, JVC, Kenwood, Sony or Zenec Head-units.
Double DIN fascia and cage kit (50-860)
Replacement car audio fascia to enable you to change the original radio in the car to a Double DIN aftermarket version
Includes cage kit so the aftermarket cage supplied with the new radio will not be needed.

This kit will work with 2002 - 2004 cars but will not retain the original parking sensors, we do not yet have a solution to retain the parking sensors on the earlier models.
