Air Motion Transformer (AMT) technology represents a loudspeaker concept that does not require a conventional voice coil.
Unlike conventional tweeter domes, the AMT diaphragm is a thin, folded Kapton sheet that carries the signal via a winding conductive track etched in thin aluminum. To achieve high manufacturing precision, the sheet is folded by hand using special tools.
Thus, the speaker does not move from front to back to produce the tones. The movement takes place in the folds, that is, laterally, like an accordion bellows. This causes the air to accelerate in the convolutions and exit through the front. One of the advantages of this technology is that this folded diaphragm provides increased surface area for a reduced tweeter size. Coupled with the light weight of the Kapton diaphragm, this results in detailed and dynamic reproduction with a very good impulse response and low distortion. Its control is ensured by a powerful magnetic field from neodymium.
Its square horn allows you to orient the tweeter as you wish to control the directivity at an angle of 80° or 30° horizontally or vertically.
To best optimize the performance of this AMT technology, our team chose to maximize the emissive surface of its tweeter and control its response through a specially designed horn.
This is why this CNC-machined aluminum part is distinguished by four phase emission sections. This results in a gain in the linearity of the frequency response and a notable opening on the perception of listening to guarantee a wide but precise sound stage.
