The Paser SlimKey EVO OBD is a next-generation CANBUS FD service interface designed to provide reliable vehicle gear indication and vehicle movement output. It analyses CANBUS data traffic, detects the odometer signal, and converts vehicle movement into an easily usable output for interfacing with other devices. No configuration is required, and the module features automatic vehicle CANBUS protocol selection, upgradable firmware, and a free wire harness. Suitable for vehicles with an OBD2 port and SAE-J2284 or ISO 15765 protocol, typically petrol and diesel vehicles from 2009 onwards.

SlimKey EVO CANBUS FD Speed Pulse Interface

The Paser SlimKey EVO OBD is a next-generation CANBUS FD service interface designed for reliable vehicle gear indication and vehicle movement signal output. It is built for specialist vehicle integrations where a dependable movement or odometer-based signal is required for interfacing with compatible external devices.

SlimKey EVO OBD analyses CANBUS data traffic, detects the vehicle’s odometer signal, and identifies vehicle movement before converting it into an easily usable output. This output is designed for interfacing with other devices and is supplied as an OUT not with 12V pull-up, making it suitable for compatible integration applications where a clean signal output is required.

Installation is straightforward, with no configuration required. The interface also features automatic selection of vehicle CANBUS protocols, helping to simplify installation across a wide range of supported vehicles. The module is also compatible with CAN FD, making it suitable for newer vehicle network architectures.

For added flexibility, the SlimKey EVO OBD includes upgradable firmware, allowing future updates where applicable. A free wire harness is also included to support installation.

25-511 Compatibility

This interface is suitable for vehicles with an OBD2 port using SAE-J2284 or ISO 15765 protocol, and is generally intended for petrol or diesel vehicles designed from 2009 onwards. Proper operation on vehicles prior to 2009 must be verified, as compatibility depends on the vehicle’s design year.

25-511 Installation

Slimkey EVO is a multi-protocol interface compatible with CANBUS (CAN 2.0, FD CAN).

It supports the SAE-J1939, SAE-J2284, and ISO-15765 protocols.

The CAN BUS profile setup is performed automatically via self-recognition.

The module operates at 12V or 24V; the outputs will therefore be at 12V or 24V accordingly.

Selection between ISO-15765 (standard OBD diagnostics) and J1939 profiles must be performed manually.

There are two configurable analog outputs available.

By default, the configuration is as follows:

OUTPUT 1- POSITIVE 1A, preset as positive ignition {PINK).
OUTPUT 2 - NEGATIVE l00mA with PULL-UP, preset as speed signal at 23K pulses per mile {GREY).
