This steering wheel control interface is designed for Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic and Nissan NV300 (2017 onwards) vehicles fitted with the standard radio. Based on the trusted 29-706 interface, this version includes a power extension lead, allowing connection to an ignition-switched supply. Ideal for aftermarket head unit installations, it retains factory steering wheel audio controls while ensuring reliable power integration in later vehicles where ignition feed is absent from the original radio plug.
The Vauxhall Vivaro, Renault Trafic, and Nissan NV300 steering wheel control interface allows seamless retention of factory steering wheel audio controls when upgrading to an aftermarket head unit. Compatible with 2017 onwards models and standard factory radios, this unit ensures OEM-like functionality after installation.
This interface is based on the proven 29-706 module but has been professionally modified with a power extension. On newer vehicles, an ignition-switched 12V feed is not always available in the factory radio harness. The extension allows installers to tap a reliable power source, ensuring the interface operates correctly.
Based on prior technical experience, the most suitable ignition feed point is the cigarette lighter supply, providing a consistent switched 12V supply. This interface is perfect for professional installers and experienced DIYers upgrading factory radios to modern aftermarket head units while retaining steering wheel control functionality.
