VW Transporter T5.1 2009–2015 Stereo Upgrade Fitting Kit (Climate Control/ Parking Screen retention)

This stereo upgrade fitting kit allows the installation of an aftermarket Double DIN head unit or Single DIN floating screen stereo, such as the Alpine Halo or Pioneer SPH-EVO98DAB / SPH-EVO107DAB, into Volkswagen Transporter T5.1 models manufactured between 2009 and 2015. It is specifically designed for vehicles originally equipped with factory RCD310 or RNS510 radio systems, ensuring a clean, factory-style finish within the dashboard.

The included steering wheel control InfoAdapter interface retains the use of the original steering wheel audio buttons while also preserving factory vehicle display features. Where fitted from factory, optical parking sensor visualisation and climate control graphics continue to display on the vehicle screen, maintaining full OEM functionality. DAB radio reception is retained using the supplied Fakra antenna adapter, ensuring compatibility with modern digital radio head units.

All required components are included for a professional installation, including a matte black Double DIN fascia panel, antenna adapters with phantom power, steering wheel control interface, universal patch lead and a Single DIN to Double DIN pocket for floating screen installations. This kit is ideal for upgrading audio performance and adding modern connectivity while preserving key factory features.

Stereo Upgrade Fitting Kit Includes

Male Fakra to female SMB DAB antenna adapter cable

If your factory stereo has DAB as standard you can use this cable to convert the original (Fakra DAB) antenna connector in a car to a female SMB, allowing you to retain DAB signal on the new Pioneer head unit.

Double Fakra to Male DIN aerial antenna adapter cable (With 12v phantom power)

This cable converts the original antenna connector in the car, known as a Double Fakra connector, to a standard aftermarket antenna connector, known as a DIN connector.

The adapter cable has a built in module which provides a phantom power feed to the original antenna in the car. A phantom power feed is a 12v power supply that is sent up the centre wire of the antenna cable, this powers the amplifier built into the original antenna. The antenna adapter cable has a loose wire which needs to be connected to the 12v antenna power output of the new aftermarket stereo.

The phantom power feed terminates in a junior timer receptacle terminal to make it easy to connect into the electric antenna turn on position of a standard ISO connector. 

VW Steering Wheel Control/ Infoadapter interface

This VW Steering Wheel Control & Infoadapter Interface (29-CTUVW01) is designed to retain key factory features when installing an aftermarket head unit in Volkswagen vehicles equipped with a white MFD (Multi-Function Display). It preserves OEM steering wheel audio controls for safe and convenient operation, while maintaining a factory-style integration between the vehicle and the new stereo system. All retained functions are dependent on the vehicle being originally equipped with these features on the factory radio system.

In addition to steering wheel control retention, this interface allows vehicle information such as climate control status, parking sensor graphics and heated seat information to be displayed on any aftermarket head unit with a rear camera input, provided these features were available on the original factory radio. With a plug-and-play design (when used with the correct patch lead), it avoids cutting factory wiring and supports compatibility with leading head unit brands, making it ideal for professional installations and OEM-quality upgrades.

Universal head-unit patch lead for 29-CT series steering wheel control interface

Universal patch lead for 29-CT series steering controls. Suitable for Alpine, Clarion, JVC, Kenwood,  Pioneer, Sony and Chinese head-units that are steering wheel remote ready.

This cable plugs into the Steering wheel control box and into either the 3.5mm socket or single wire on the back of the head-units.
Follow instruction to cut loops if needed.
